If we look back to the 1950’s, there were no high school massacres. You didn’t read headlines throughout the year about children shooting each other, kids bringing guns to school, etc. Why? Because the kids then were well taught. They were, for the most part, brought up in Godly homes where they were taught right from wrong. They prayed before dinner and before bed, right after reading the bible and having a family devotion.
Now, without prayer in school and without Christ in lives of most of our children, we are seeing a multitude of in school and out of school violence, drugs and overall crime. Is this a coincidence? I really don’t believe so. We are telling the children of today that it is okay to be immoral, to have sex as long as you use a condom, and that you don’t have to go to school or church if you don’t want to.
No wonder the generation of youth currently has the lowest grades in United States history with the highest drop out rate. We are telling them it is okay to act like a fool and to disrespect everyone but themselves. Almost 65% of American teenagers across the country have never stepped foot into a church - much less ever said a prayer to God.
Why wouldn’t we bring prayer back into school? We have seen what it has done to our children without - let’s go old fashion and say the pledge of allegiance (including Under God) everyday at the beginning of class, followed by a prayer led by the teacher and see how quickly our nation can recover from what it has done to itself.
There is absolutely no reason to link school shoots to the loss of something that should have never been in our schools - prayer.
It’s an irrational relationship between the two, and you should be ashamed of yourselves. There is no evidence of it.
…just like we have no evidence that there is any god at all.
Why should we be ashamed of ourselves for caring about children and young people? How many active Christians committed the violent acts in schools? I think there is a direct link with the violence in youth and the lack of God in their lives.
I beg of you to become a believer, realize you are sinner just like myself, and ask God for your salvation.
I’m not saying at all that Christians are superior to non-believers, I’m just saying that we know our role is to live for and please God, and that is what we strive to do. We are sinners just like you, but we have admitted that to God and have a relationship with him.
